KISKAYETUM: ALLEN SAPP, A RETROSPECTIVE | ALLEN SAPP

Allen Sapp is a painter of Northern Plains Cree heritage whose career has spanned some thirty years.  His paintings have informed a wider audience about his own community and about Aboriginal pride in their unique culture and lifestyle. Despite the numerous awards that Sapp has received in his lifetime, this is the first exhibition assembled by a major public gallery in which his work is subjected to a critical evaluation. This exhibition was curated by Bob Boyer, Associate Professor of Indian Art History, and Head of the Department of Indian Fine Arts at the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College, University of Regina.
